Hi Yan,

Thanks for the patch I have been using since mpd 0.16 and I enjoy very much.

Since the release of MPD 0.18, would you advice which rtopt patch to apply? I have tried all the patches in "skydrive" download but it returns with error when I patch.

mpd-rtopt-20130813.diff
mpd-dsdbugfix-20130203.diff

Hi Jeff,

I think yan is busy for his work, so I will reply on behalf of him.
Yan's patches mpd-rtopt-20130813.diff and mpd-dsdbugfix-20130809.diff are for MPD 0.18. But they are not effective for current version since the update of the MPD has progressed. Therefore you must wait a little for yan's patch corresponding to the new version of MPD.

You can set RT priority by using "chrt" command. Please refer to the following links.

I am now a Voyage+Alix users. How would you compare the alix with the Cubox (with all the tweaks you have mentioned in the blog)?

Difficult question to answer because I do not have alix and my English vocabulary is limited.
But I have heard Alix once in my audio room and I thought both Cubox and Alix are excellent sound but the sound quality of two are quite different. Alix is much soft and gentle. Cubox is more sharp and clear. It depends on your taste to choose which one.
