Most of my MIDI data are modern music. So I cannot make them to the public here because of the restriction of copyright. This page collects those pieces of which copyright are already expired..
Arrangements of "a holy night" were composed for the Christmas project in the board named "Even apes can compose Modern Music" of Niftyserve on 1995.
You can read a Japanese document by the "readme" button, hear a MIDI file by the "MIDI" button and download a ZIP-compressed file by the "download" button. Refer here about the copyright policy in this web-site.
Arrangements of "a holy night"An Original Holy Night
- "Travel of a Holy Night" by Yo Kubota
An ethnic holy night. A *joke* using SC-88's ethnic tones.
It only repeats the melody of a holy night six times with a scale of Miyakobusi(Japan), seven equally divided scale(Siamese), Pelog(Java), Bhairav(Hindu), Maqam Rast(Arab) and Pythagoras(Western medieval). Finally, all instruments play in concert.
The MIDI data and zip-compressed file are specifically tuned to SC88.
(68KB) (14KB)This piece uses ethnic tones and system exclusives which are only workable in SC88. You can not hear it exactly as intended with other musical devices. So here are RA-formatted files(mono) of the ethnic parts & the full-length performance in mp3-formatted file(stereo). The image below is a clickable map. Please click on your favorite country.
- "To the Victims of a Holy Night" by Yo Kubota
As you could assume from the title, it's a parody of Penderecki's "To the Victims of Hiroshima". Cluster version of a Holy Night.
It's a *joke* exercising 64 voices of SC-88. I would like to dedicate this piece to the rejected lovers who drink with a vengeance in their despair on Christmas Eve.
To simulate a special way of playing string instruments, this piece uses tones which are only available in SC88. So the MIDI data and zip-compressed file are specifically tuned to SC88. Please hear this data with SC88 if you have one.

CANT DELL OCELLS (Catalonian Fork Song)
- An original piece by Gruber
Now you are hearing it. This piece is not a joke. The original arrangement by Franz Xaver Gruber who had composed "A Holy Night". I found this arrangement from the book named "The Story of Silent Night" by Paul Gallico. In the inside-cover of the book, there was a score of "A Holy Night" by Gruber himself. I made this data from it to compensate my joking with this beautiful music.
Many control changes are deleted in the MIDI data to be heard on-line. The zip-compressed file is specifically tuned for SC88. Please hear the zip-compressed file with SC88 if you have one.

- Arranged by Casals
This song became famous by Casals playing it in the White House when President J.F.Kennedy invited him.
The zip-compressed file is specially tuned to SC88.
As I could not make this data to be listened contentedly in my PC's sound board, I do not provide with a MIDI button. Please hear the zip-compressed file.
